Sex and War — Tells the secret and surprising story of homosexuality in the British army. It is estimated that during WWII more than 250,000 gay men were in uniform. SBS, Friday, March 12, 8pm.

Russia's War: Blood on the Snow — This episode details the Nazi thrust to the south, Stalin's brutal reform of the Red Army and the battle for Stalingrad. SBS, Sunday, March 14, 8.30pm.

Road Warriors of Somalia — This documentary, shot in Mogadishu, presents a unique view of the young fighters who drove the US invaders out in 1993. SBS, Sunday, March 14, midnight.

Patrick: His Life, His Land — To mark St Patrick's Day, this film attempts to discover the truth about the life of St Patrick in Ireland. It takes us back to the 5th century, the times of paganism, marauding invaders and sweeping religious change. Expert historians examine the historical context and debate various theories, while vivid re-enactments illustrate Patrick's transformation from privileged aristocrat to tormented slave and missionary. SBS, Wednesday, March 17, 8pm.
