The Market of Innocence — Ten years ago, the United Nations adopted the Children's Rights Convention to tackle the problem of child labour. However, today there are some 250 million children aged five to 14 working for virtually nothing, 50 million more than when the convention was signed. This documentary investigates the exploitation of children throughout the world. While overwhelmingly a problem in the Third World, the rich capitalist countries are not exempt from the scourge of child labour. SBS, Tuesday, March 21, 8.30pm.
