Free Julian Assange, protesters say

Protesters gathered at Parliament House on July 28 to send a message to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor cabinet that they need to apply diplomatic pressure to the British and United States governments to drop the聽political聽case聽against聽Julian Assange.

Speakers included: journalist Mary Kostakidis, Independent MP Andrew Wilkie,聽Liberal MP Bridget Archer,聽Greens MPs Jordon Steele-John and David Shoebridge,聽Independent MP聽Monique Ryan, Christian Lampong from聽Amnesty International, whistleblower David McBride, Sue Wareham of Doctors for Assange聽and聽journalist and filmmaker James Ricketson.

Assange did what every journalist should do: tell the truth about corruption and war crimes.
