Protesters gathered at Parliament House on July 28 to send a message to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Labor cabinet that they need to apply diplomatic pressure to the British and United States governments to drop the political case against Julian Assange.

Speakers included: journalist Mary Kostakidis, Independent MP Andrew Wilkie, Liberal MP Bridget Archer, Greens MPs Jordon Steele-John and David Shoebridge, Independent MP Monique Ryan, Christian Lampong from Amnesty International, whistleblower David McBride, Sue Wareham of Doctors for Assange and journalist and filmmaker James Ricketson.

Assange did what every journalist should do: tell the truth about corruption and war crimes.
