Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz has openly declared Israel's plan to carry out a genocide in Gaza.
In a "final warning" to the entire Gaza civilian population, he says that even if the Gaza population were to expel Hamas and hand over every Israeli prisoner, they would STILL be ethnically cleansed from Gaza ("given the opportunity to leave").
Otherwise, they will be slaughtered in a way "never before seen".
Meanwhile Anthony Albanese has defended his government鈥檚 failure to come to the aid of Palestinians in Gaza, claiming that Australia is 鈥渘ot a major player in the Middle East.鈥 This could not be further from the truth. The Australian government heads a taskforce to protect Israeli shipping in the Red Sea. It has a $917 million defence contract with Elbit Systems, Israel鈥檚 largest weapons manufacturer, and has approved export licences for parts used in F-35 fighter jets, including the mechanism used to drop bombs on Gaza.
We say, enough is enough! Australia must unequivocally condemn Israel鈥檚 genocide. And it must impose diplomatic and trade sanctions on Israel, and a two ways arms embargo.
