Hundreds of people marched through Brisbane on August 28 in opposition to the Queensland Labor government’s proposed anti-protest laws.

The local council tried to ban the march but lost the court case the night before.

Greens Brisbane City Councillor Jonathan Sri, who organised the protest, ridiculed the government's description of activists who block roads as "extremists", saying the real extremists are MPs who lock up 12-year-old Aboriginal children for minor alleged offences.
