The photo reproduced here was printed in the Newcastle Herald on October 25. It shows Tim Anderson reading the latest 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ Weekly after delivering the keynote speech at the annual 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ dinner dance in Newcastle on October 23.

The dinner was a great success. More than 90 people from all over Newcastle came to lend their support in the most concrete way they could. By the end of the evening, over $600 had been raised for the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ fund appeal.

Dinner organiser Margaret Allen described it as an important step for 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ in the Newcastle region. "This is one of the largest progressive events to be held in Newcastle this year", she said. "It has shown the real potential of 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ as a means of networking among radical-minded people."

Throughout the year, dinners held to raise funds for 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ Weekly have proved to be more than just a good night out. Hundreds of people have given their time and their energy, making these events the most successful ever. The Newcastle dinner was the latest in a series this year.

Over the next month, as 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ winds up for the year, dinners are being held across the country to finish the year in style. On Saturday, November 27, dinners will be held in Perth, Brisbane and Hobart. The nights promise to be exceptional examples of good food, politics and culture. For readers in those cities, the dinners will be an important opportunity to help build the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ project, not to be missed.

91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ receives no support except from those who read and value its independent stance. Coming along to the next 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ dinner in your city is a good way you can show your support. Check the advertisements in the paper and "Meetings, Parties, Anything ..." for details. 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ Weekly — it's your newspaper.
