Choices — A four-part documentary series produced by 2SER-FM, Sydney, that will be broadcast on 28 community radio stations around NSW, Choices looks at the many decisions women face while juggling work, children, leisure and their partners. The program also explores women's involvement in their communities and in politics to extend the choices available to women. Each Wednesday, 9pm, beginning March 6 (repeated each Friday, 9am, beginning March 8). 2SER-FM, Sydney, 107.3. Phone your local community station for broadcast time in your area. Paradise Lost — Something for insomniacs. The second in a series of six social history features about the colonists of William Lane's utopian socialist experiment in Paraguay and their descendants today. In this episode, Margaret Riley remembers her father's decision to take his wife and seven children on the epic journey to the wilds of South America. ABC Radio National, Thursday, March 7, 1.30am. The Murder of Emmett Till — There are increasing demands in the US for renewed investigations into racist murders in the deep south in the 1950s and 1960s. Emmett Till, a 14-year-old from Chicago, was beaten to death in 1955. This documentary recounts the events and interviews the men acquitted of the murder. ABC Radio National, Saturday, March 9, 3.30pm. Live broadcast of the Sydney IWD march and rally — Women Out Loud will be broadcasting the speeches to all capital cities. ABC Radio National, Saturday, March 9, 5pm (repeated Wednesday, March 13, 2pm). The Holmes Brothers recorded live — The best of US southern roots music — gospel, blues and country — performed by the fabulous vocal group the Holmes Brothers. Recorded live in Melbourne during their recent tour. ABC Radio National, Sunday, March 10, 4.05pm. Dora: A case of Hysteria — A play by Kim Morrissey, set at the turn of the century. Dora is a young woman diagnosed as suffering nervous hysteria. She undergoes treatment with the famous Dr Freud. No one considers the possibility that rather than being "hysterical", she is telling the truth about her experiences — least of all Freud, who twists her innocent and straightforward statements into symbolic and sexual meanings that fit his theories. An amusing reassessment of one of Freud's most famous case studies. ABC Classic FM, Tuesday, March 12, 8pm. Paradise Lost — The third part of the story of William Lane's utopian socialist experiment in Paraguay. This episode looks at the disputes that caused the newly established Nueva Australia to split apart. Two descendants still living in Paraguay are interviewed. ABC Radio National, Thursday, March 14, 1.30am.
