Words of One Syllable — A radio play by Richard Barrett. Frank is a dying man who is confronting the knowledge that his son is gay and prefers to live in another town with his lover rather than take over the family home after Frank's death and care for his mother. ABC Radio National, Sun February 14, 3.05 p.m.

Awaye — An exploration of indigenous arts, produced and presented from Alice Springs by Aboriginal broadcaster Clayton Lewis. Awaye means, in the language of the Arrente people of the Alice Springs area, listen up. ABC Radio National, every Monday, 10.05 a.m. and 8.05 p.m.

Out On Wednesday: Michelle Shocked live — Mourn the passing of ABC FM stereo's weekly Out On Wednesday concerts (deemed by ABC management "inappropriate" for that station) by enjoying a concert recorded during the Texan singer-songwriter's recent Australian tour. Recorded at the Sydney State Theatre last December, the concert features many songs from her most recent album, Arkansas Traveller. ABC FM Stereo, Wed February 17, 8 p.m.

Health Style for Life — Sydney's public radio 2SER-FM's weekly alternative health program. AIDS, diet, stress, vitamins, herbs, how to remove termites without using chemicals, auras, yoga, and is your electric blanket a killer? — just some of the topics covered every Wednesday, 11.30 a.m.
