Why

First Nations people are subjected to ongoing gross violations of human rights on this stolen continent.

Rates of imprisonment are skyrocketing, with Aboriginal people now making up 35% of the total prison population and more than 50% of youth locked inside.

Labor and Liberal state governments are funding more prisons and cops and making it hard to get bail. In the NT the incoming Liberal government has lowered the age at which kids can be locked up to 10 years and re-introduced spit hoods.

Black deaths in custody are no longer making the news but are happening regularly. Here in Sydney there have three deaths in the Silverwater Metropolitan Reception and Remand (MRRC) alone this year.

Aboriginal kids are being forcibly taken from their families in numbers far higher than the stolen generation.

Fossil fuel mining and other destructive development on unceded Aboriginal lands is driving a worldwide climate crisis. And Australia - built on First Nations genocide - is actively supporting the genocide of Palestinian people, continuing trade, diplomatic support and military exercises with Israel.

Stand up and rally to mark International Human Rights day. Join this event and help build momentum for a massive invasion day march in 2025.
