Dressed in white cricket gear, with a plastic cricket set of bat and stumps and a grass mat for the pitch, a bowler, a batter and an umpire 鈥減layed鈥 a cricket match in the foyer of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Sydney聽on December 1.
They were demanding that the SBI聽cut all ties with Adani.
About 30 people marked one year since two protesters rushed onto the Sydney Cricket Ground during the one-day match between India and Australia.
SBI is still considering loaning Adani almost $1 billion for its coal mine in central Queensland. The mine would destroy the land of the Wangan and Jagalingou Traditional Owners, use 270 billion litres of groundwater and add 43.6 million tonnes of carbon pollution to the atmosphere.
