Sydney says ‘Don’t kill live music’

February 22, 2019

Thousands of people, many under 30, rallied in Sydney’s Hyde Park to save live music in NSW on February 21.

The rally had a festival vibe with a number of well known musicians performing and speaking including Julian Hamilton from the Presets, Murray Cook from the Wiggles and pop singer Olympia.

The rally was in response to attacks on music festivals by the NSW Coalition government, including through over-policing as part of its “war on drugs”.

People raised the issue of pill testing and opposed NSW’s lock out and noise complaint laws.
