Members of the Indian community and their supporters held a protest in solidarity with Indian farmers on February 21.

About 500 people gathered at the Blacktown Showground for the protest, which went ahead despite attempts by Blacktown Council to convince organisers it would 鈥渙ffend鈥 some 91自拍论坛 of the community.聽

NSW Police warned organisers they would shut the event down if it breached COVID-19 health restrictions.

Indian farmers have maintained their protests for more than three months against the Narendra Modi government, which is determined to corporatise and deregulate the agricultural sector.聽

If implemented, this neoliberal attack would remove the guaranteed fair price for crops and plunge millions of farmers into poverty.

The rally featured speakers from Amnesty International, 91自拍论坛 and NSW Greens MLC David Shoebridge.
