More than 100 members of Western Australia鈥檚 Tigrayan community marched聽on July 8 to protest the war being waged against Tigray聽since November 2020.

The Ethiopian National Defence Forces are fighting alongside the Eritrean Army and regional forces against Tigray.

More than 500,000 civilians have died in this conflict and 6.8 million people are in need of food.

Despite the region being subject to more than 600 days of media blackout, there are reports of ethnic cleansing against the Tigrayan community.聽European Union High Representative Josep Borrell Fontelles said: 鈥淲e receive consistent reports of ethnic-targeted violence, killings, massive looting, rapes, the forceful return of refugees and possible war crime.鈥
