Why

Community members across the country are showing incredible leadership to tackle the climate crisis. It’s time for the Australian Labor Party to follow suit. The biggest event on the Labor party calendar is coming to Meanjin/Brisbane — the Labor Party Conference. It’s an opportunity the climate movement can’t afford to miss.

On the first day of National Conference, we'll rally and form a giant human clock together send a clear message to Labor: Time’s Up! It’s time to protect Country and our Climate!

BRING: All your clocks (especially ones with an alarm)! your placards and your mates.

We’re calling for a policy platform that will protect Country and our climate. This means:

  • Ruling out new coal and gas projects and ending fossil fuel subsidies
  • Delivering a historic investment in renewable energy and climate solutions
  • Urgently fix our Cultural Heritage and Environmental Protection laws - including amending the water trigger

If Labor stepped up to meet these demands, we could usher in a prosperous, secure, renewable-energy-powered future Yet fossil fuel corporations and their lobbyists are standing in the way and intent on thwarting us.

A strong turnout at the rally will remind the Albanese government and Labor Party to work for people to protect our future, not fossil fuel profits.

When our communities stand up together, we are powerful enough to win bold and ambitious climate action. If there are enough of us boldly demanding climate action outside the conference, we can create enough waves so that fossil fuels and climate solutions are on the agenda inside.

At the rally we will show our people power and gather together with hundreds of others fighting for a better future. There will be music, dance, colourful banners and inspiring speakers.

Meet at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at 8:00am. There will be plenty of roles for everyone, no matter your experience.
This rally will be held on unceded land of the Turrbal and Jagera peoples. We pay respect to elders past and present and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. There will be no climate justice without First Nations justice.
