Where

Australia

Why

Reclaim the Night is an annual protest calling for an end to sexual assault and violence against women (trans and cis).

Join us for a night of action as we take to the streets for our right to not just feel safe, but to 'be' safe, in all the spaces we occupy – on the streets, in public parks, in our homes, in workplaces, in schools / TAFE / Uni, in venues, in care services, at sporting events, on public transport, everywhere…

We have the right to live free from sexual assault, free from sexual harassment, and free from threats of sexual violence.

We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands upon which we will gather and march, the Awabakal people, and pay our respects to their elders past and present.

Women (trans and cis) and children* are welcome for the entire event: The pre march speakers in the park, the march, and the entertainment after the march.

* Please note if you are bringing children, that speakers, signs, chants etc will name and make reference to sexual assault and violence.

Non binary people are very welcome to participate in a way that feels best for them

Men (trans and cis) are very welcome to support the event by listening to the speakers at the beginning, enjoying the entertainment after the march, lining the footpath during the march, but we ask that you respect the march is an autonomous space.
