West Papuans and their supporters say they have been 鈥渓et down鈥 by Melanesian Spearhead Group聽leaders over a decision not to admit the United Liberation Movement of West Papua聽as a full member, reports Susan Price.

The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) granted the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) observer membership during a summit meeting in Honiara on June 26. It also upgraded Indonesia鈥檚 membership from observer to associate.
On February 4 a coalition uniting the resistance of Indonesian-occupied West Papua submitted an application to join the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).
