Sue Bull, Zane Alcorn and Chloe DS were the featured speakers at a September 26 forum titled “Albanese's Labor: Sacrificing principles for power?”.
Bull spoke about the history of while giving only the minimum scraps to working people necessary to maintain support.
Alcorn under Labor and the need for stronger climate action. He encouraged people to attend the Rising Tide blockade of the Muloobinba/Newcastle coal port in November.
Chloe DS spoke about the limits of the government's refugee rights policies.
Since Albanese's Labor government has been in power, it has continued to roll out many of the Coalition's unpopular policies such as the Stage 3 tax cuts, and the controversial AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine deal, the forum heard.
In addition to spending tax-payer money in ways that further the interests of the ruling-class, this government has refused to support practical measures that could improve the quality of life for all Australians, such as capping rents during a cost-of-living and housing crises.
