Nurses and midwives across New South Wales took strike action on February 15, including holding a large rally outside NSW Parliament, where they spoke about their log of claims, including safe staff ratios.Â
Socialist Alliance candidate for the NSW Senate, Paula Sanchez, spoke to 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ about what nurses and midwives are campaigning for and why she is running with the Socialist Alliance.
Sanchez is a healthcare educator and has worked as a nurse for more than 20 years. She is currently a lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the Western Sydney University. Sanchez is also active in the Latin American solidarity movement in Sydney.
