CFMEU to rally against ABCC

Issue

The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) and other construction unions are organising national rallies on Thursday March 9 against the Turnbull government’s war on construction workers.

The resurrected Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC) is an attack on the industry and it will endanger lives.

Its new laws will mean fewer jobs; more lives lost as safety is undermined; no job security; no limits on casual workers; more temporary visa workers; no priority for local workers; apprenticeships under threat; no limits on overtime; and no proper rest breaks.

The CFMEU is encouraging broad support and has put out a call for unions to attend with their flags and colours.
