Palestine supporters protested outside the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Palestinian Children鈥檚 Day on April 9, condemning Israel for stopping all aid, food, water, medicine and fuel from entering Gaza.

They demanded that the federal government act now to stop Israel鈥檚 massacre and its starvation of Palestinian children.

They called on Labor to: demand Israel allow 鈥渦nfettered access鈥 to aid in Gaza; sanction Israeli leaders for breaching international law; and cut diplomatic, military and trade ties with Israel.

Speakers included: refugee rights activist Lieke Janssen; Palestinian and Lebanese activist Jordan AK, from Socialist Alliance; and Palestinian and Free Palestine Melbourne organiser Muayad Ali, who chaired the rally. Healthcare workers and unionists attended.

Janssen said that 鈥渨e are enraged and our hearts are broken, but that doesn鈥檛 mean that we have lost hope鈥.
