Ireland, one of Europe's most socially conservative countries, has voted by a landslide to liberalise the world's most restrictive abortion laws, Common Dreams.
The result was 66.4% to 33.6% in favour of repealing the constitutional amendment that banned abortion, with one of for a refereundum in Ireland (64.5% of registered voters). Thousands of Irish people living abroad travelled back to vote, with huge suport for change from younger voters.
