Issue

Miss Marx, a feminist reading of the life of Karl Marx鈥檚 youngest daughter,聽Eleanor Marx,聽will open in Australian cinemas on March 3.

Filmmaker聽Susanna Nicchiarelli believes Eleanor Marx鈥檚 story, 鈥渨ith its incongruity between public and private life, gives us an insight into the complexity of the human soul, revealing the fragility of our illusions and the deadliness of certain romantic relationships.鈥

Telling Eleanor鈥檚 life story,聽Nicchiarelli adds, 鈥渋s an opportunity to discuss topics that are so modern that they can still be called revolutionary today, a century and a half later鈥.
