The Kurdish community held an emergency rally on November 20 outside the State Library of Victoria in solidarity with the people of Rojava, in northern Syria, who are under attack from Turkey.

The protesters chanted, 鈥淪top genocide in Kurdistan鈥 and 鈥渢he Turkish state is a terrorist state鈥.

In the early hours of November 20, Turkish warplanes began bombing hospitals, schools and other civilian targets in and around Koban锚. Local communities fear that a ground invasion may be imminent.

Representatives read a statement condemning Recep Tayyip Erdo臒an聽regime鈥檚 brutal attack on the Kurds of Rojava and聽on the Kurdish regions of Turkey.
