The May 20 New York Times declared: 鈥淧resident Obama, seeking to capture a moment of epochal change in the Arab world, began a new effort [in his speech] to break the stalemate in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, setting out a new starting point for negotiations on the region's most intractable problem.鈥�
West Bank
Palestinian activists in the occupied West Bank have called for the boycott of the popular Rami Levy Israeli supermarket chain. The chain has several stores inside Israel鈥檚 illegal settlements.
Activists say they will call on fellow Palestinians to 鈥渁void supporting the occupation and settlements鈥� economy by boycotting Israeli goods and settlement stores鈥�.
A vigil was held on September 23 outside the Rami Levy store inside the Sha鈥檃r Binyamin settlement south of Bethlehem.
