Kurds appeal for urgent aid in wake of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ spoke to Gulfer Olan, the co-chair of the Federation of Democratic Kurdish Society (Australia) about the twin earthquakes that have devastated Kurdish towns and cities in Turkey and North and East Syria (Rojava). She explained that the Turkish and Syrian governments were not sending urgently needed emergency aid.

Kurdish organisations, including Kurdish Red Crescent, have begun collecting donations to help the victims of this disaster. A fundraising event will be held on February 11, 7pm at the Democratic Kurdish Community Centre, 2 Romford St, Kings Park, NSW.
