A delegation of three Singaporean activists will participate at Ecosocialism 2024, being held over the weekend of June 28-30 in Boorloo/Perth.
Among the delegation will be Peter Yeo, from the SG Riders network, which campaigns for improved safety, wages and bargaining power for food delivery riders. Yeo is involved in building solidarity with other low-paid and migrant workers.
Student organiser Elijah Tay is also confirmed to attend. Tay is a leader of Students for Palestine, which is campaigning for the Singaporean government and local universities to cut ties with Israel, as well as an activist in the labour rights and abolitionist movements.
The third member of the delegation is anti-death penalty and labour rights activist Lynn.
Also confirmed to speak is All India Students鈥 Association activist Aishik Saha. A researcher on labour and the digital economy, Saha will address the workshop 鈥淗ow capitalism ruined the internet鈥.
A number of new speakers from Australia have also been added to the bill, including Retail and Fast Food Workers Union organiser Judy Saric and Construction Forestry, Mining, Maritime and Energy Union organiser Cody Jensen.
While unable to attend in-person this year, Gunnai, Gunditjmara and Djab Wurrung woman and Independent Senator Lidia Thorpe has recorded a video presentation to be shown as part of the panel 鈥淣o justice, no peace: Achieving First Nation sovereignty.鈥
Ecosocialism 2024 is once again being hosted by 91自拍论坛, Socialist Alliance, LINKS International Journal of Socialist Renewal and Resistance Books.
