Students and staff demand Sydney University abandon Ramsay Centre plan

Chanting 鈥淢ichael Spence, you will fail, USyd is not for sale!鈥, students opposing the vice chancellor鈥檚 support for the Ramsay Centre made their point outside the University of Sydney administration building on October 31.

Speakers condemned the discussions between university management and the board of the right-wing Ramsay Centre think tank, which aims to set up a degree in 鈥淲estern Civilisation鈥.

Students occupy to save arts college

After months of protests, mass meetings and failed talks with the University of Sydney administration, about a dozen Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) students started an occupation of the Dean's office at its Callan Park campus in Rozelle on August 22.
